    WHAT IS GEW?

GEW, or Global Entrepreneurship Week, is a world-wide initiative that takes place during the week of November 12th-18th. It aims to unleash ideas through the promotion of entrepreneurship. It is in celebration of this initiative that we are having Social (E)mpact take place on the week of November 12th.

    OUR MISSION: SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP

"An innovative solution that is derived from entrepreneurial principles, with the goal of creating social change. This solution can be an entirely new approach, or an improvement upon existing systems."
We want to show organizations with a social mission the potential for entrepreneurship to further their cause.  We plan to accomplish this mission with three events: Immerse, Inspire, Innovate.

In this pitch competition, student organizations, selected through an application process, will be the innovators - coming up with new ideas, solutions, and tactics that will aid them in accomplishing their social missions. Experienced mentors with knowledge about entrepreneurship will be on hand to help each student group. At the end, each organization will pitch their idea. Based on these presentations, the judges will decide the winners of the $500 prize - and to continue our message of sustainability, we will hold participants to their promises, and make sure that they get the support they need to continue with their projects.

Come out to see what these orgs came up with: presentations will begin at 7:30 PM.
